Acceptable Use Policy
The rules that govern how Sales Day may and may not be used.

This Acceptable Use Policy forms part of the Sales Day Terms of Service.
It applies to every Customer, User and person who accesses or uses Sales Day.
Capitalised terms that are not defined in this Policy have the meanings given in the Sales Day Terms of Service.
1. Purpose
Sales Day is designed to help businesses and professionals manage sales activity, customer relationships, Tasks, Meetings and related workflows.
You must use Sales Day:
- lawfully;
- responsibly;
- securely;
- in accordance with the rights of others;
- in accordance with the Terms; and
- only for legitimate business or professional purposes.
You must not use Sales Day, or allow another person to use it, in any way prohibited by this Policy.
2. Your responsibility
The Customer is responsible for:
- its Users;
- activity carried out through its Accounts and Workspaces;
- Customer Data entered into Sales Day;
- communications initiated using Sales Day;
- connected integrations;
- permissions and roles;
- imported data;
- compliance with applicable law; and
- ensuring that Users understand this Policy.
You must take reasonable steps to prevent unauthorised or prohibited use.
You must notify us promptly at security@sales.day if you become aware of:
- Account compromise;
- unauthorised access;
- misuse of a Workspace;
- unlawful activity;
- a security incident; or
- another material breach of this Policy.
3. Illegal activity
You must not use Sales Day to:
- break any applicable law or regulation;
- encourage, facilitate or assist criminal activity;
- conceal unlawful conduct;
- evade legal or regulatory obligations;
- interfere with a lawful investigation;
- process unlawfully obtained information;
- knowingly maintain false or fraudulent records;
- facilitate tax evasion, money laundering, bribery or corruption;
- infringe sanctions or export-control requirements; or
- help another person do any of these things.
4. Unlawful, harmful or abusive content
You must not upload, store, transmit, publish or share content that:
- is unlawful;
- is fraudulent or materially misleading;
- is defamatory;
- infringes privacy or data-protection rights;
- infringes copyright, trademark, database rights or other intellectual-property rights;
- contains malicious code;
- facilitates violence or serious harm;
- threatens or harasses another person;
- promotes hatred or unlawful discrimination;
- facilitates exploitation or abuse;
- involves non-consensual intimate material;
- depicts or facilitates child sexual abuse or exploitation;
- supports terrorism or violent extremism;
- impersonates another person deceptively; or
- is otherwise prohibited by applicable law.
Normal, lawful business records concerning complaints, disputes, risk, performance or customer issues are not prohibited merely because they are critical or negative.
5. Data protection and privacy
You must not use Sales Day to collect, use, disclose or retain personal data unlawfully.
You are responsible for:
- identifying an appropriate lawful basis;
- providing required privacy information;
- respecting individuals' rights;
- keeping information accurate where required;
- limiting information to what is reasonably necessary;
- setting appropriate retention periods;
- protecting exported data;
- restricting access to authorised Users;
- deleting data when no longer lawfully required; and
- complying with applicable data-protection laws.
You must not:
- purchase, scrape, obtain or import personal data unlawfully;
- conceal the source of personal data where disclosure is required;
- ignore valid objections or opt-outs;
- use Sales Day to create unlawfully discriminatory profiles;
- use unlawfully obtained lists;
- expose personal data to Users who do not need access;
- deliberately enter false personal data about another person;
- use Customer Data for an unrelated unlawful purpose; or
- interfere with a person's lawful privacy rights.
6. Sensitive and regulated information
Unless Sales Day has expressly agreed otherwise in writing, you must not use the Service as the primary system for storing or processing:
- full payment-card numbers;
- card-security codes;
- online banking credentials;
- third-party passwords;
- private authentication keys;
- extensive medical or health records;
- genetic data;
- biometric identification data;
- criminal-offence records;
- classified government information;
- national-security information;
- highly sensitive government identifiers;
- information subject to specialist financial-services recordkeeping;
- information requiring a guaranteed specialist data-residency arrangement;
- substantial volumes of children's personal data; or
- other high-risk information for which Sales Day has not confirmed suitability.
Incidental references to sensitive matters in legitimate business notes do not automatically breach this Policy, but you must minimise such data and ensure that its processing is lawful and necessary.
7. Electronic communications and marketing
Sales Day may allow Users to send notifications, invitations or other communications.
You must comply with all applicable laws concerning:
- electronic mail;
- direct marketing;
- unsolicited communications;
- consent;
- legitimate interests;
- suppression lists;
- sender identification;
- opt-outs; and
- business communications.
You must not use Sales Day to:
- send spam;
- send unlawful marketing;
- conceal or falsify the sender's identity;
- use deceptive subject lines;
- contact people who have validly opted out;
- repeatedly contact a person who has asked you to stop;
- send messages to unlawfully obtained recipient lists;
- use misleading sender addresses;
- facilitate phishing;
- send bulk unsolicited messages through manual or automated means; or
- circumvent provider or platform sending restrictions.
Where required, every marketing message must:
- clearly identify the sender;
- provide valid contact details;
- provide an effective way to object or unsubscribe; and
- respect prior objections and suppression records.
You are responsible for understanding that different rules may apply to:
- companies and other corporate bodies;
- sole traders;
- partnerships;
- individual subscribers;
- existing customers;
- prospective customers; and
- recipients in different countries.
Sales Day does not confirm that a communication is lawful merely because the Service technically allows it to be sent.
8. External notification recipients
Where you use Sales Day to notify someone who is not a Sales Day User, you must ensure that:
- the recipient address is accurate;
- the recipient is appropriate;
- you are authorised to share the information included;
- the message does not expose unnecessary Customer Data;
- the communication is lawful;
- confidential information is not disclosed improperly; and
- the feature is not used for spam or harassment.
You must review record notes and other free-text content before sending them to an external recipient.
9. Team invitations and Account access
You must not:
- invite a person without a legitimate business purpose;
- knowingly send repeated unwanted invitations;
- invite people using misleading Workspace information;
- use invitations for phishing;
- share invitation links publicly;
- use another person's invitation;
- transfer an individual User Account;
- share login credentials;
- create Accounts using another person's identity without authority; or
- retain access after your authority has ended.
Workspace owners and administrators must remove Users who no longer require access.
10. Security
You must not:
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to Sales Day;
- access another Customer's Workspace or data;
- probe, scan or test vulnerabilities without written authorisation;
- bypass authentication;
- bypass role or permission controls;
- bypass plan limits;
- bypass rate limits;
- defeat security measures;
- extract secrets or credentials;
- intercept traffic unlawfully;
- upload malware;
- introduce viruses, ransomware, spyware or harmful code;
- interfere with logging or audit controls;
- conceal malicious activity;
- use stolen credentials;
- attempt privilege escalation; or
- assist another person in doing so.
Good-faith security reports should be sent to:
Do not publicly disclose a suspected vulnerability before giving Sales Day a reasonable opportunity to investigate and respond.
11. Interference with the Service
You must not:
- disrupt Sales Day;
- impair its availability;
- overload its infrastructure;
- carry out denial-of-service activity;
- deliberately create excessive requests;
- run uncontrolled automated jobs;
- trigger repeated costly operations without legitimate need;
- exploit bugs to consume disproportionate resources;
- interfere with another Customer's use;
- corrupt or damage data;
- disable security or operational controls;
- manipulate delivery or import records;
- create unnecessary duplicate records at scale; or
- use the Service in a way that creates unreasonable operational risk.
12. Automated access, scraping and extraction
You must not use bots, scripts, crawlers, scrapers or other automated tools to access Sales Day unless:
- the function is provided by Sales Day;
- it is enabled through an authorised integration;
- it uses an authorised API;
- it is expressly permitted in writing; or
- applicable law gives you a right that cannot be restricted.
You must not:
- scrape the Sales Day application;
- extract source code;
- harvest User information;
- copy another Customer's data;
- defeat pagination or export controls;
- reconstruct underlying databases;
- repeatedly query the Service in a manner that creates excessive load; or
- use automation to evade usage limits.
Permitted CSV exports and authorised integrations are not prohibited.
13. Reverse engineering and competitive misuse
Except where applicable law gives a right that cannot be excluded, you must not:
- reverse engineer;
- decompile;
- disassemble;
- derive source code;
- bypass technical restrictions;
- copy non-public application functionality;
- reproduce the Service;
- create an unauthorised derivative service;
- use Sales Day to build or train a directly competing product through systematic extraction;
- perform unauthorised benchmark testing;
- resell access;
- operate Sales Day as an unauthorised service bureau; or
- make the Service available to third parties outside your authorised Users.
This does not prevent normal evaluation of Sales Day for your own purchasing or business decision.
14. Intellectual-property infringement
You must not use Sales Day to store, distribute or exploit material that infringes another person's rights.
This includes:
- copyrighted works;
- trademarks;
- protected databases;
- trade secrets;
- confidential information;
- software;
- customer lists;
- photographs;
- written material; and
- proprietary business information.
You must have all rights and permissions required to use Customer Data.
15. Fraud, deception and impersonation
You must not use Sales Day to:
- impersonate another person or organisation unlawfully;
- misrepresent your authority;
- create deceptive Accounts;
- falsify sales activity;
- create fraudulent customer records;
- facilitate invoice fraud;
- carry out phishing;
- conceal the true sender of a communication;
- deceive recipients about a product or service;
- manipulate performance records dishonestly;
- misrepresent a relationship with Sales Day; or
- present Sales Day as endorsing you without permission.
16. Harassment and surveillance
You must not use Sales Day to:
- stalk;
- intimidate;
- threaten;
- harass;
- facilitate unlawful surveillance;
- monitor individuals secretly where unlawful;
- compile intrusive personal profiles without lawful justification;
- coordinate abusive communications; or
- repeatedly contact a person who has asked you to stop.
Legitimate sales follow-up, Account management and business recordkeeping are permitted where conducted lawfully and responsibly.
17. Discrimination and prohibited profiling
You must not use Sales Day to make or facilitate unlawfully discriminatory decisions.
You must not use Customer Data to unlawfully discriminate on grounds protected by applicable law.
Sales Day is not intended to make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about individuals.
Users remain responsible for decisions they make using Sales Day data.
18. Children
Sales Day is not intended for use by children.
You must not create User Accounts for persons under 18.
You must not deliberately use Sales Day to build extensive commercial profiles of children unless:
- the processing is lawful;
- it is genuinely necessary;
- required safeguards are in place; and
- the use has been expressly agreed with Sales Day where appropriate.
Material involving child exploitation is strictly prohibited and may be reported to relevant authorities.
19. High-risk and safety-critical use
Sales Day is not designed for safety-critical decision-making or systems where failure could reasonably result in:
- death;
- serious injury;
- significant physical harm;
- emergency-response failure;
- critical-infrastructure failure;
- unsafe vehicle operation;
- medical-treatment decisions;
- weapons operation; or
- major environmental harm.
You must not rely on Sales Day as the sole operational control for such activities.
20. Professional advice and regulated activity
Sales Day does not provide:
- legal advice;
- financial advice;
- tax advice;
- medical advice;
- employment-law advice;
- regulated investment advice; or
- another licensed professional service.
You must not represent Sales Day output, workflow suggestions or Account information as professional advice supplied by Sales Day.
Where your business is regulated, you remain responsible for:
- licensing;
- supervision;
- recordkeeping;
- disclosures;
- suitability;
- approvals; and
- regulatory compliance.
21. Billing and plan abuse
You must not:
- use multiple Accounts to evade plan limits;
- create repeated trials dishonestly;
- misuse promotional offers;
- avoid seat charges;
- conceal active Team Users;
- manipulate billing-owner information;
- use another person's payment method without permission;
- initiate fraudulent chargebacks;
- falsify tax status;
- interfere with Stripe checkout;
- manipulate Subscription records; or
- exploit a billing error knowingly.
You must tell us promptly if you become aware that you are receiving paid features without being properly charged.
22. Free Plan and trial abuse
You must not create or control multiple Accounts, organisations or Workspaces primarily to:
- obtain repeated trials;
- avoid Free Plan limits;
- avoid paid Subscriptions;
- bypass seat requirements;
- evade restrictions; or
- continue access after suspension.
We may consider factors such as:
- Account ownership;
- email domains;
- organisations;
- payment methods;
- devices;
- Workspaces;
- usage patterns; and
- other reasonable indicators.
23. Imports and exports
You must ensure that data imported into Sales Day:
- was obtained lawfully;
- is appropriate for the intended purpose;
- does not infringe rights;
- does not contain malware;
- does not deliberately contain harmful spreadsheet formulas;
- does not overwhelm the Service;
- is not designed to exploit parsing or validation controls; and
- complies with applicable marketing and data-protection rules.
You must protect exported files appropriately.
You must not export data for:
- unauthorised disclosure;
- unlawful resale;
- employee misuse;
- unlawful marketing;
- identity theft;
- competitive theft; or
- another prohibited purpose.
24. Integrations
You must not use an integration to:
- access data without authority;
- circumvent Sales Day permissions;
- exceed provider permissions;
- send prohibited communications;
- cause duplicate or destructive actions intentionally;
- interfere with synchronisation;
- manipulate external records dishonestly;
- access another person's calendar without authority; or
- breach the third-party provider's terms.
You are responsible for:
- reviewing permissions;
- maintaining connected Accounts;
- disconnecting unnecessary integrations;
- protecting external Accounts; and
- complying with provider terms.
25. Google Calendar
When using Google Calendar integration, you must not:
- connect an Account you are not authorised to use;
- sync confidential information improperly;
- create misleading calendar events;
- invite attendees unlawfully;
- use event data for an unrelated unlawful purpose; or
- attempt to bypass Google permissions.
You are responsible for reviewing events created or updated through synchronisation.
26. Support and communications with Sales Day
You must not misuse support channels by:
- threatening or abusing staff;
- submitting deliberately false reports;
- flooding support with duplicate tickets;
- sending malware;
- impersonating another Customer;
- attempting social engineering;
- submitting another person's confidential information unnecessarily; or
- using support to bypass Account permissions.
Reasonable complaints, criticism and escalation are permitted.
27. Prohibited resale and access sharing
Unless expressly authorised in writing, you must not:
- resell Sales Day;
- sublicense it;
- rent access;
- provide shared public Accounts;
- operate it for unrelated third parties as a service bureau;
- sell Workspace access;
- transfer paid entitlements;
- share individual User Accounts; or
- use one paid seat for multiple people.
Consultants and outsourced service providers may use Sales Day on a Customer's behalf where:
- they have an authorised individual User Account;
- their access is legitimate;
- confidentiality obligations apply; and
- the Customer remains responsible for their activity.
28. Misuse of Sales Day branding
You must not:
- claim to be Sales Day;
- claim to represent Sales Day without authority;
- imply endorsement;
- copy Sales Day branding deceptively;
- register confusing domain names;
- use Sales Day logos without permission;
- send communications appearing to come from Sales Day; or
- create misleading login or payment pages.
29. Compliance investigations
Sales Day may investigate suspected breaches of this Policy.
You agree to provide reasonable cooperation, including information needed to:
- verify Account ownership;
- understand suspicious activity;
- confirm authority;
- investigate a security incident;
- review unlawful communications;
- protect affected Users; or
- comply with law.
We are not required to disclose confidential detection methods, security systems or information about another Customer.
30. Enforcement
Where we reasonably believe this Policy has been breached, we may:
- issue a warning;
- request corrective action;
- require removal of content;
- restrict a feature;
- disable an integration;
- restrict sending;
- limit imports or exports;
- suspend a User;
- suspend a Workspace;
- preserve evidence;
- terminate access;
- notify the Customer's owner or administrator;
- report activity to a provider;
- cooperate with lawful authorities; or
- take another proportionate protective action.
We will normally consider:
- the nature of the breach;
- severity;
- risk to individuals;
- intent;
- repetition;
- cooperation;
- remedial action;
- legal requirements; and
- potential harm.
We may act immediately where delay could:
- expose personal data;
- threaten security;
- facilitate unlawful activity;
- harm another person;
- disrupt the Service; or
- breach a legal obligation.
31. Content removal and preservation
Where reasonably necessary, Sales Day may:
- restrict access to content;
- remove prohibited content;
- preserve records;
- prevent deletion temporarily;
- isolate compromised data; or
- disable related functionality.
Preservation may occur where required for:
- security;
- an investigation;
- legal claims;
- regulatory obligations;
- fraud prevention; or
- a lawful request.
32. Reporting prohibited use
Report suspected prohibited use to:
Report urgent security concerns to:
Please include enough information for us to understand and investigate the issue.
Do not send unnecessary personal or sensitive information.
33. Appeals and correction
If we restrict or suspend access under this Policy, the affected Customer may contact support@sales.day to:
- request an explanation;
- provide relevant facts;
- dispute an error;
- confirm corrective action; or
- request restoration.
Sales Day may refuse restoration where continued access would create unacceptable legal, security or operational risk.
34. Relationship with Customer policies
Customers may impose additional acceptable-use, security or employment policies on their own Users.
Those policies operate between the Customer and its Users.
They do not reduce the Customer's or User's obligations under this Policy.
Where the Customer's policy is stricter, Users must comply with both.
35. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy to reflect:
- changes in law;
- new security threats;
- changes to the Service;
- provider requirements;
- new forms of abuse;
- regulator guidance; or
- clearer drafting.
Material changes will be communicated through a reasonable electronic method.
Continued use of Sales Day after the effective date of an updated Policy constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.
